Back on Duty

Three Houston County deputies, who were put on administrative leave late last week over a wrongful arrest lawsuit, are back to work.

The case involves charges last June against three suspects including a juvenile, for manufacturing methamphetamine.

The attorney representing the suspects said deputies with the narcotics division along with an informant bought sudafed to set up a sting operation, and said that was entrapment.

Houston County Sheriff Andy Hughes launched an internal investigation into the matter, and determined no criminal act had been committed.

That investigation was reviewed by the Alabama Bureau of Investigations which also determined no criminal or administrative charges are warranted.

The three deputies are back on full duty.
