Dothan police have a new high tech tool to help them on the job. It’s the Firearms Training System, or FATS.
This week weapons instructors are learning how to use the system which lets officers perfect their marksmanship while helping them decide when to shoot and when not to.
It’s a system that's already used by law enforcement agencies and military troops around the world. In the coming weeks the rest of the police force will start training on the simulator.
The cost of the system is nearly $70,000 and U.S. Department of Justice grants paid for most of it.
