Ozark Mayor Bob Bunting is going on Alabama Public Television to talk about the Base Re-alignment and Closure Commission or BRAC. Bunting is Alabama’s BRAC Commission Chairman.
Bunting will discuss how important the four main Alabama military installations are to the state's economy. He’ll also talk about what Alabamians can do to help protect them from closing.
The mayor will be accompanying Alabama Gov. Bob Riley when he visits Fort Rucker on Friday.
The visit is part of Riley’s two-day tour to the major military installations in the state before the legislative session begins.
It will be Riley’s first visit to Fort Rucker where he will accompany the mayor and the commanding general to learn more about the Home of Army Aviation.
Bunting says he hopes the governor will get a good handle on Fort Rucker and go to the legislature with strategies for enhancing the post.
Bunting will appear on APT's "For The Record" Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m.
