Home Destroyed by Fire

A fire in Hodgesville destroyed a mobile home, about 6 miles South of Dothan.

Fire Chief Kenny Givens from the Hodgesville Volunteer Fire Department says they received a called around 11:20 p.m. Wednesday from someone who saw flames while passing by the home.

Upon arrival, Hodgesville firefighters along with the Lovetown Volunteer Fire Department, worked for more than two hours, but could never get the fire under control.

The mobile home was completely destroyed.

Mandy Maynard owned the home on Cherry Road, but was not there at the time of the fire.

Chief Givens says the fire started in a back bedroom, but the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
