A sheriff's deputy in the Florida panhandle shoots a suspect in the leg after the suspect pulled a gun on him.
The entire indecent was captured on tape from the deputy's dashboard camera.
The video from Santa Rosa County Deputy John Welch’s squad car shows 55-year-old Hubert Shedd get out of his sister's car as she fights to keep him inside.
The video then shows Shedd drawing a gun and Deputy Welch returning fire and hitting Shedd in the leg.
Shedd was airlifted to a hospital where he remains in critical condition.
Officials say earlier in the day Shedd showed up at his sister's house in Avalon Beach where he fired a shot and ordered her to drive him to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Department.
Police got word of Shedd's destination and cut him off before he could arrive at their headquarters.
Deputy Welch is on administrative leave pending an investigation into the shooting.
Shedd is facing two charges of aggravated assault.
