Starting today, the City of Dothan will end twice a week garbage pick-ups and weekly trash pick-ups at privately owned apartment complexes.
The city will end Saturday landfill operations January 3rd and curbside recycling February 1th.
However, the city will announce three locations where you can drop-off recyclables at a later date.
Dothan officials say the city is losing money in the garbage business, so the decision to make changes in solid waste collection was simple.
The changes are expected to save the city about $75,000.
The next change city officials are considering is ending garbage pick-up at Dothan city schools.
