Police brace for large Mardi Gras crowd in Mobile

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - Police are braced for a large crowd at Friday night's Mardi Gras kickoff in Mobile.

The Conde Cavaliers parade rolls at 6:30 p.m. and police begin shutting down streets in and around the downtown parade route at 5:30 p.m. Tow trucks will be busy hauling away vehicles parked in restricted areas. It will cost $75 to get your vehicle out of the tow lot.

Carnival rolls on through Fat Tuesday on February 20th.
