Rehobeth High School Construction

Work on the future Rehobeth High School began last November and Monday, 50 percent of the project was finished.

The 125,000 square foot facility will have a gymnasium, vocation center and Junior ROTC building. The new school will help to relieve overcrowded conditions at the existing campus.

The only portable classrooms in the Houston County School System right now are at Rehobeth. The new school is costing $11 million and less than $3 million is coming from state bond money to help get rid of portable classrooms.

The new school is scheduled for completion in March and will open for classes in July of next year.

Houston County School officials said the student population at the existing campus in Rehobeth has increased by more than 700 in the past 10 years.
