Officials say about three dozen children and teenagers have already died from the flu.
Alabama reported one confirmed flu-related death so far, a 22-month-old child from Mobile County who recently died in a New Orleans hospital.
Flu vaccine is available again for those eligible at Lyster Army Hospital.
The immunization clinic offers the flu vaccine Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Appointments are not required.
Children age six months to eight years who received the vaccination in November should return for the second dose of the vaccine.
Eligible beneficiaries include family members of active-duty military personnel, retirees and their family members.
The clinic will be closed Dec. 25 and 26 and Jan. 1 and 2 for the holidays.
