gavel

With his mother and wife at his side, the Honorable Allen Register was sworn in as the newest judge in the 14th Judicial Circuit.

The circuit includes six Northwest Florida counties.

For the last decade, Register has served as Washington County Judge. Florida Gov. Jeb Bush appointed him to the circuit judgeship in May. More than 200 people attended the ceremony.

Prior to becoming county judge, Register spent 11 years as an assistant state attorney in Chipley.

In his new position, he'll primarily handle juvenile and domestic cases.
