Authorities in one Northwest Florida county are urging senior citizens to beware this holiday season.
Washington County Sheriff Fred Peel says there have been two incidents of elderly residents being taken advantage of.
One incident occurred in Sunny Hills and the second took place in Chipley.
In each case, four men who asked to do yard work approached the homeowner.
The victims paid the men with checks totaling $2,600 and $3,200. The workers did things like removing limbs, trimming trees and various yard work.
At this time, there are several leads of the suspects possibly in the Dothan area.
Authorities are asking the public for help in the case, and they want to hear from other possible victims. You can call the Washington County Sheriff's Department at 850-638-6111.
