An upgraded system will help alleviate long-lines and reduce file folders in the Houston County license division, but the new system will cost you a few more dollars to get your tags and titles and conservation or business license.
Beginning Wednesday the Houston County probate office will charge extra $3 in transaction fees except for driver licenses.
The extra cost will help the probate office continually upgrade equipment.
That equipment allows probate employees to scan tags and titles and certain licenses into a computer system.
The fees for tags and titles will go into effect Wednesday and the conservation and business license customers will see the additional $3 for all of their transaction in March.
There will be no charge for customers performing handicapped transactions.
