WETUMPKA, Ala. (AP) - Authorities in Elmore County are working
to identify a body found in a burned out vehicle Monday night.
Sheriff Bill Franklin said deputies were called to the Redland community after residents reported hearing an explosion. He said the body was so badly burned that investigators were unable to determine the victim's gender or race.
Franklin labeled the explosion as suspicious because someone removed the vehicle's license plate and ID number.
