BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Investigators say a pregnant woman in her third trimester was stabbed to death by another woman in a fight over the baby's father.
Randy Christian, spokesman for the Jefferson County Sheriff's department, said Wednesday night at 10:30 20-year old Saudia Causwell had an argument with Joi (Joy) Gallagher, who is charged with killing Causwell.
Christian said Gallagher had three children with the father of Causwell's newborn.
Causwell died at 2:19 a.m. Thursday. Her baby was delivered and is in intensive care at UAB Hospital.
Gallagher was booked into the Jefferson County Jail this morning in connection with the killing. According to jail records, she posted a 30,000 dollar bond on a murder charge and was released at 12:20 p.m.
