Governor's Tour

Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman was in Ozark Monday talking to officials about preparing the community for major Hyundai suppliers.

The visit is part of the governor's Communities of Excellence Tour.

He outlined key areas of the community that suppliers will look at when they consider settling in Ozark.

Included were education, technology, healthcare and airport accessibility.

The governor said Ozark is a model for other communities to follow, especially since they are working with Dothan and other cities to bring more jobs to the Wiregrass.

The governor's office said once Hyundai builds their new $1 billion plant outside Montgomery, Alabama has the potential to get more than 8,000 jobs from companies moving in to supply the auto manufacturer.
