Soldier From Jacksonville Dies in Iraq

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Military officials say a Jacksonville soldier has died from combat operations in Iraq.

According to the Department of Defense, 24-year-old William Rechenmacher died January 18th in Baghdad when an improvised explosive device detonated.

Rechenmacher was assigned to the first Brigade Special Troops Battalion, first Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

Additional details haven't been released.
