The Alabama Fire Marshall's office and coroner are at the scene of a fatal mobile-home fire in rural Geneva County.
Neighbors reported smoke billowing from the structure off State Highway-85 in the Bellwood Community just after 2:30 Saturday afternoon.
The building was being used as a bait shop and fish camp.
Bellwood and Geneva Volunteer Firefighters found flames shooting more than 20-feet into the sky.
At first, it was unclear whether anyone was inside, but soon their worst fears were confirmed.
Geneva Volunteer Fire Dept. Chief Ben Latimer said, "In route we received an update that someone might be inside. Upon arrival the structure was engulfed in flames. After putting out the fire, we discovered the body."
A cause for the fire has not been given at this time.
The deceased has been identified as 74-year-old Bobby Phillips who lived next door to the fish camp.
Family members say he started the business more than 30-years-ago.
