Ozark Drug Plan

There's some good news for Ozark seniors. The city council decided to adopt a senior prescription drug program.

This is actually the same senior prescription program that Houston County has been using for about a year. It’s in partnership with the Southern Alabama Regional Council on Aging or SARCOA. Seniors have to be 60 years or older and on a fixed income.

They must have a chronic medical condition and cannot have prescription insurance or benefits. Eligible seniors fill out applications at SARCOA, who contacts a doctor.

The doctor will then write a prescription, which goes to the pharmaceutical company and then back to the doctor free of charge.
