Moore Fights Back

Ousted Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore has announced that he will fight to get his job back.

A spokeswoman for the former chief justice at first had said Moore would not file an appeal.

But, in a statement the former chief justice issued Thursday, Moore said he would file an appeal of his removal from office with the Alabama Supreme Court by Dec. 10.

The state judiciary court removed Moore from office on Nov. 13 for refusing to obey an order to remove a Ten Commandments monument from the state judicial building.

A mobile attorney has filed a federal court suit on behalf of one of Moore's supporters that seeks to have his removal from office declared unconstitutional.

Alabama Attorney General Bill Pryor, has asked a federal judge to dismiss that lawsuit.
