If you live in an apartment, there could be some changes in store when it comes to your trash.
Interim City Manager Jerry Corbin presented a proposal to the city commission intended to streamline the city's garbage collection services.
Under the plan, the city will stop picking up garbage from Dothan’s 21-privately owned apartment complexes.
Instead, landlords would be required to contract with private companies for the service.
Corbin says tenants should see little difference with the change, which will save the city around $75,000 each year.
If commissioners approve the proposal, the changes would go into effect early next year.
The city is also looking at other measures including eliminating the curbside recycling program and stopping all Saturday landfill operations.
