A Montgomery federal judge Thursday required prosecutors to show cause as to why Seigelman and Scrushy should bedenied their request for a new trial.
The two men, who were convicted on bribery and conspiracy charges last June, asked the judge to consider a new trial over what they say is newly discovered evidence.
Prosecutors have until January 19th to respond.
