JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Two Navy helicopters had to make
emergency landings in downtown Jacksonville Thursday morning, but no one was injured.
A Navy spokeswoman at Jacksonville Naval Air Station says the Sea King helicopters from Helicopter Squadron Three were flying in formation over the St. Johns River when both made emergency landings, one on the north bank and the other on the south bank.
Both landed on lots along the river and there was no damage to anything on the ground.
Navy spokesman Rick Crews says the rotors of the two helicopters
touched and the emergency landings were done as a precaution.
The Navy is investigating.
