Reward Offered in Midland City Murder Case

The governor's office is offering a reward to help arrest whoever is responsible for the murder of a Dale County man.

On Sept. 3 of 2005, 72-year-old Billy Ray Jackson of Dale County was found stabbed to death at his residence on Friar Road in Midland City.

He was found in his living room with multiple stab wounds to the chest and he was also brutally beaten.

Dale County Sheriff Bryant Mixon says investigators are still following leads in the case and they have identified a possible suspect, however they need more information to make an arrest.

A five thousand dollar reward is now being offered in the case.

Anyone with any information should contact the Dale County sheriff’s office at (334) 774-2335.

Authorities say all callers will remain anonymous.
