The mother of a murder victim testified Tuesday against her former son-in-law.
Sara Odom testified Tuesday afternoon that Baker sent her a letter a few weeks after her daughter was killed claiming he planned to plead guilty to his crime and seek the death penalty.
District Attorney Doug Valeska introduced the letter as evidence.
Bobby Baker was convicted and sentenced to die for a 1994 shooting spree that left two people wounded and his wife, Tracy, dead.
However, two years ago, the Alabama Supreme Court ordered a new trial because jurors should not have been allowed to hear evidence of previous domestic violence cases involving Baker and his wife.
Testimony in Baker's trial continues Wednesday.
