Severe storms swept through Alabama Sunday, spawning at least one tornado in Barbour County.

The Tallassee Weather Center said a small F1 tornado with winds around 80 miles per house rolled though the Marley Mill area.

Officials say it did not touch the ground, but some residents suffered some structural damage and a few trees down.

“Because this is not a declared disaster, EMA is just going to try to assist the homeowner with any surrounding help that we can come up with. Volunteer and church groups or anything if they need help,” said Director Ray Phillips of Dale County Emergency Management.

No injuries were reported from the storm.
