After 13 years of presiding over the Henry County court system, a local judge is retiring.
A farewell gathering was held in Judge Charles Woodham's honor Friday. Many of his colleagues spoke of the wisdom and justice he brought with him each time he stepped into the courtroom.
Woodham's family attended the celebration.
Woodham was honored to have the retirement party held in his name, and he kept his humor during the event.
“I'm humbled and I'm proud. I don't know if they're here to honor me or they're happy that I'm leaving but no but I'm honored to be honest with you,” said Charles Woodham.
Woodham’s last day of work will be next Friday, when Derek Peterson will take his place.
