United way campaigns statewide hope to raise more than $50 million by mid-December.

In Montgomery, United Way officials said the pace of this year's campaign to raise nearly six million dollars is slower than in the past.
The Birmingham United Way has raised just over half of its $31.6 million goal.
But here in the Wiregrass, United Way officials say they are already at 75-percent of their $2.2 million goal.
In fact, Fort Rucker has already passed their aim of $200,000, with $209,000 so far.
The local United Way receives calls everyday from people in need of services.
Hill says it's important to make donations, especially during the holidays.
