Local leaders in one Wiregrass city want a little more time to study a "smoke free" ordinance for their town.
This week, the Andalusia city council took no action on banning smoking from restaurants and all public facilities.
The proposal would also prohibit people from lighting up within 25-feet of a public doorway of a building where smoking is banned.
At this week's meeting those for and against the ordinance gave presentations before the council.
Several proposed changes to the law will be made and the matter is expected to come up again on the council's January 16th agenda.
