ARAB, Ala. (AP) - A hunter's grim discovery Saturday morning has authorities working to determine the victim's identity and cause of death.
An Arab Police investigator said the hunter, whose name was withheld, found the skeletal remains in a wooded area and a sand pit, located off Aldridge Gap Road.
Authorities said the remains and some clothing were sent to a state forensic lab in Huntsville for tests, but they declined to say more about the discovery.
A county coroner said it appeared the body had been at the site for a lengthy period of time.
