ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) -- A 5-year-old boy has died after drowning in a motel pool.
St. Petersburg Police said the family was throwing a birthday party Saturday at the motel where they reside.
The victim's parents placed him under the supervision of a 13-year-old sibling who was in the pool at the time.
At some point Jadan Justice slipped into the deep end of the pool. Another motel resident saw the child at the bottom of the pool, dove in and rescued him. Two others began CPR.
Jadan was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The investigation continues. No charges have been filed.
