MIAMI (AP) - More than 450 pounds of fireworks that were being sold illegally have been seized by authorities following an all-day sting in Miami-Dade County.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue spokesman Lt. Arnold Piedrahita Jr. said inspectors found two people selling about $12,000 worth of fireworks from an SUV on Friday afternoon. Hours later, two more people were found selling fireworks from vehicles on another South Florida roadway.

In total, authorities say they collected about $25,000 in professional-grade fireworks.

Piedrahita Jr. says the fireworks are going to be turned over to the Miami-Dade Police Department Bomb Squad.
