Salvation Army Distributed Christmas Items

Thursday was the big day for area families to receive Christmas gifts and bagged groceries from the Salvation Army.

For months, thousands of Wiregrass residents donated time and money to purchase gifts, for children and groceries for families

Families stood in line waiting to get the gifts that would make their children's Christmas wishes come true.

“We're shown we need to show love during the Christmas Season. We live in a community that shows love that meets the needs that are out there. There are always going to be people in need and we always need to be showing love and meeting those needs,” said Capt. Mark Gillam of Salvation Army.

This season the Salvation Army added a new bonus to their program, budgeting classes.
