A local exchange student may be forced to cut her trip short if contents from her purse are not found soon.
Mariana Almeida of Brazil is staying with a host family in the Wiregrass.
Authorities say her purse went missing around 10:30 last Friday after dinner at Applebee’s in Ozark.
The purse contained valuables including her passport and visa.
If the identification materials are not recovered, officials say Almeida will have to return to Brazil, cutting her exchange program in half.
Her host family is offering a $200 reward for the missing identification items, and $300 reward for all contents of the purse.
The purse is a black vinyl Kipling purse with a monkey on it.
If you have any information, call her host dad, Stuart Smith at 791-2532.
