Bridge Work

A bridge on a busy Dothan road will be closed for part of the day each day next week.

Engineers will conduct geological surveys at the Beaver Creek Bridge on Brannon Stand Road so they can draw up plans to replace the structure.

The bridge will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for about 10 days. Parents will still be able to drop off and pick up their children at Highland's Elementary School which is just a few hundred yards away.

A project to widen and elevate the bridge is scheduled to begin early next year.

Engineers say a temporary bridge will be built to continue allowing traffic on Brannon Stand Road until construction is completed.
