A brand new store is allowing Dothan’s Rescue Mission to assist more residents during the holiday season.
A ribbon cutting was held on Friday for the Rescue Mission Sales Center, which is located next to the Southside Kmart.
Their old store located near downtown Dothan was only 8,000 square feet.
The new sales center is 21,000 square feet and provides 75 percent of the funding used to help Houston County residents in need.
“There are a lot of people in our community that do have needs and the Rescue Mission provides funding for them, especially this time of year,” said Director Brad Hardy of Dothan Rescue Mission.
Most of the stores items are donated from area residents. The new store has been opened for a month.
