Dothan Regional Airport

The Dothan Houston County Airport Authority is getting a $200,000 grant to help marketing efforts at the Dothan Regional Airport.

U.S. Congressman Terry Everett made the announcement of the grant Monday. Everett says many other communities were competing for the grant.

In addition to the grant, Everett also indicated that the Dothan Regional Airport will be designated as an air service development zone.

That means that the Department of Transportation will work closely with Dothan to attract business to the areas surrounding the airport. DOT will also help develop land use options for the area.

The marketing will start as early as January 2004.
