Houston County Drugs

Drug Bust

A million dollars worth of illegal drugs went up in smoke in Dothan.

Houston County Sheriff Lamar Glover cleaned out his evidence locker of drugs, which were then taken to the dump and burned and buried.

The load represented more than 2,000 pounds of marijuana, methamphetamine and cocaine cases dating back seven years.

The sheriff said his narcotics officers are still hard at work, targeting dealers and not just users.

Glover said the drugs came from cases that ended in convictions and were no longer needed for evidence.
