Houston County leaders say they are taking residents opinions into consideration when establishing the plan for a new quadrennium.
Leaders said they are making some alterations to the four-year improvement plan.
Those changes include phasing in the sanitation fee, rather than charging customers a lump sum.
They will also look a little closer to home in finding an IT Department consultant.
The merit system consideration is still in the plan, but it is not guaranteed.
“This is strictly a plan, a guideline. This is not anything that is in concrete. If we adopt this, we are not automatically adopting everything in here because there is not any detail in here of each of these projects,” said Chairman Mark Culver of the Houston County Commission.
County leaders want to stress that the plan is still subject to change and many other suggestions made at the public hearing will come up when the specific item is voted on.
