PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (AP) - A memorial service will be held
Friday for a Panama City Beach soldier killed in Iraq.

Army Captain Shawn English will be honored at Woodlawn United
Methodist Church at 4 pm.

English's family says he was killed by a bomb explosion Sunday, just hours after they spoke to him on a Web cam.

English spent nearly all his adult life in the Army, first as an enlisted soldier, then as a commissioned officer after attending college. He served in an armored cavalry unit during the first Gulf War, later joined a Ranger battalion and became a diver in 1999.

He leaves behind a wife and three sons.
