One oil and food mart company is reaching out to the community this holiday season.
Herndon Oil and Shell Foodmart donated $1,000 each to four local charities, including the local American Red Cross, the Wiregrass Children's Home, the Salvation Army and the Dothan Rescue Mission.
Officials say this is the just one way to help spread holiday cheer to some less fortunate residents.
“We've never tried to target the organizations that are active in people's lives year round that help the helpless, homeless and needy the entire year round but also need an extra shot in the arm this time of year,” said VP Mike Martin of Herndon Oil and Shell Foodmart.
There will be one more $1,000 check presentation next week.
The company has not released the name of the recipient, but says it's to help bring food baskets to the community.
