Houston County crowned a new Junior Miss at the Dothan Opera House Saturday night. Her name is Courtney May. Courtney beat out 21 other young women for the honor.
The high school seniors were judged on everything from scholastic achievement and physical fitness to talent and poise.
Courtney goes on to Montgomery and the state finals in January.
In all, more than $20,000 in scholarships was handed out Saturday night at the Dothan Opera House.
