Metcalf Sentence

A former Midland City police chief was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison for selling stolen firearms.

James Metcalf was found guilty in July of eight counts of selling and receiving stolen firearms.

Former and current Midland City police officers testified at his trial in Montgomery Federal Court that Metcalf sold weapons that were stolen from the department's property room.

Metcalf sold the weapons to several pawn and gun shops in Dothan, Newton and Ozark.
