Moore Ethics Charges

Chief Justicie Roy Moore

The state Judicial Inquiry Commission is fighting suspended Chief Justice Roy Moore's efforts to delay his case.

Moore has asked the commission to extend the amount of time he has to respond to ethics charges from his refusal to obey a federal court order to remove a Ten Commandments monument from the Alabama Judicial Building's rotunda.

The Judicial Inquiry Commission filed papers Friday opposing Moore's extension request. The panel's filing says this case is a matter of great concern to the state of Alabama and deserves to be resolved as soon as possible.

So far, the Court of the Judiciary has not ruled on either filing.
