A Barbour County man charged with a series of armed robberies in two states has been convicted.

Twenty-two-year-old Joseph McNeal of Eufaula was charged with robbing three motels and a video rental store in Dothan.

He was also found guilty on two counts of sexual abuse for fondling two female clerks.

Jurors deliberated less than an hour before reaching a verdict.

McNeal could be sentenced to life in prison without parole because of his criminal history.

Sentencing is set for Oct. 3.

He also faces armed robbery charges in other cities in Alabama and Georgia.
