JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Police are searching for a motive in Monday's fatal shooting at a Jacksonville hospital pharmacy.
The sheriff's office says Shannon McCants died shortly after Monday morning's shooting at Shands Jacksonville hospital. She was shot in the head.
Authorities say after the shooting, the suspect, Brenda Cone, gave up a handgun and was arrested without incident. She is being questioned at police headquarters.
The sheriff's office says about 15 to 20 people were in the pharmacy at the time of the shooting. It's not clear how many shots were fired.
A Shands spokeswoman says the pharmacy is closed for the day,
but the clinic and hospital are open.
State records show McCants was licensed as a pharmacist in Florida in 1994.
