State troopers are reporting at least six fatal accidents on Alabama's rural roadways over the weekend.
The fatalities include a Coffee County wreck that happened
Saturday just after 12 noon.
The single vehicle mishap occurred on County Road 636 about six miles south of Enterprise. Troopers say 25-year-old Christina Lynn Adkins of New Brockton was killed when the vehicle she was driving ran off the road and struck a culvert.
On Friday, a pedestrian received fatal injuries when he was hit
by a car in Russell County. The man was identified as 61-year-old
Alonza Williams of Seale. Troopers said he apparently walked into
the path of the vehicle around 6 pm. It occurred on U.S Highway
431, about 12 miles south of Phenix City.
Other fatalities were reported in Lawrence, St. Clair, Mobile and Sumter counties.
