Napier Field Mayor Laura Edwards says the Town Council voted last night to disband it's two man force.
The mayor says the Dale County town can no longer afford to maintain the department and currently, there are no plans to replace the men that were laid off.
That news has some residents concerned about how the loss will affect their community.
Dale County Sheriff Bryant Mixon says he'll increase patrols in the Napier Field area and deputies will assist the town in any way they're needed.
