Clayton Co. Firefighters Evacuate Mobile Home Park

ATLANTA (AP) - About 50 homes in a Buckhead neighborhood are
without power Thursday after a tree toppled about 2:20 a-m following
heavy rain.

The tree fell in the Collier Hills community onto two power poles. Georgia Power officials say they lost two transformers. The tree crushed two cars and damaged a pickup truck.

Authorities believe one home may have been damaged, but NO injuries have been reported.

In Clayton County, firefighters rolled in with trucks towing small boats at Edmonson Trailer Park (off Tara Boulevard). The park has a row of trailers that back up to a creek that often overflows.

In past years, up to 60 people have been evacuated. Wednesday night,
firefighters were NOT taking any chances and advised people in the
row of trailers to leave. About 15 residents decided to leave for
the night.

Meanwhile, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport recorded 2.87 inches of rain Wednesday.
