A former Houston County deputy who was sentenced to prison wants to take his chances with a jury instead.
Ricky Ducker pled guilty to stealing nearly $20,000 dollars worth of hunting and fishing equipment from a business where he worked part-time.
Judge Lawson Little handed down a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison earlier this month and denied probation.
Now, Ducker's attorney has filed a motion to withdraw the guilty plea and stand trial.
Ducker is also appealing his sentence and wants the judge to set an appeal bond so he can get out of jail while the case is being reviewed.
A hearing is set for Tuesday at the Houston County Courthouse. In the meantime, Ducker is still being held in the Houston County Jail.
