The city of Dothan is saving taxpayer’s money by purchasing all-encompassing bucket trucks.
About a month ago, Dothan Utilities received three new materiel handlers and bucket trucks combined.
Compared to the old bucket trucks, the new utility machines can do six times the work.
A bucket truck by itself cost $120,000 and a materiel handler truck $140,000
The new truck, which combines both, cost $150,000 each. That’s a savings of $30,000.
